Because We Want To Learn!

Libraries:

When we think about libraries we think about a boring place in which there are a lot of books  with information that for real it doesn't matter to us.
But if you really take the time to explore them, you will see that is a place where you can relax and take a time for you. If you can find a theme that you like very much you can find there information about that and have a good time reading about it.
Take in to account that reading is very important for learnig, getting inform and getting a good vocabulary.

  • Julio Mario Santo Domingo: It is located in the Av. street 170 No.67-51.  Is one of the biggest libraries of Bogota. It counts with a service for students and adults that permit that you can borrow books of the librarie and take them to your house; this service is called Bibliored.  The atention service or opening hours are Tuesdays to Saturdays  from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and Sundays from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.












 About 80,276 people in the month are visiting the library.  Most of people who are going between the week in the hours of evening and the weekend in the morning are students, but in the afternooon of the weeekends a lot of adults are going to the library  to see theather shows, and to have some computers classes. There are also workshops of clay for children and of movies for adults and teenagers.
The simplest way to find the books you need is to look by  the computers found in the rooms. You can search by the title, the author, the subject, or the series.
Maximun interest registeres: Title: Biology; Author: Hergé; Subeject: fairy tales.








  •  Virgilio Barco: it is located in the Av. Cra. 60 No. 57-60.  Is one of the principal libraries of Bogota . The Virgilio also counts with the service of Bibliored.



This Library has children's room of 2 floors, it has a zone for computers in which the kids can learn the importance of read and look for information with a guide.  In vacations time, the library counts with a vacation course in which kids go for 2 weeks to the library from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. There they have ludic activities and the objective is that kids get interest in reading.
For the adults we can find sewing and acting workshops, movies and the reading room.
The library is surrounded by waterfalls and streams.

  • Luis Angel Arango: its located in Cra. 5 # 11-68. Is the principal library in Bogota and one of the most important of "Latino America". Is one of the most visited public libraries in the world. 





The Library occupies an entire block. It has 10.000  useres by day and it counts with 2 milllions of volumes. It has an area of 45 thousand square meters, six floors and two basements.The present site was opened on February 20, 1958 by the Bank of the Republic, an institution to which it belongs. It is the head of the Network Library of the Republic Bank, which includes 19 libraries in different cities of Colombia.
